An evening-length duet devised in just two weeks, GREEN THINGS is verdant and alive. It is an exploration of facets of human existence through the lens of selected occurrences of nature. A duet split into chapters of green things, we work our way through our roots and how they entangle in the present. We enter into a practice of softness with one another that feels at once foreign and like home–trying to trust and open to vulnerability. We bid the dance of interdependence, inherent connectedness, working it out together. We redefine sexuality in our own queer terms: customizing our avatars, enhancing, changing, rearranging as we see fit. The piece originated with the age-old idea of the grass being greener elsewhere and grew from there.

“I am” in conversation with “I relate.” An axis we tilted to look at and dance on, and a container to hold it. A pomegranate that is home. A symbolic clusterfuck. Rich. Thick. Full of meaning. Trusting our bodies to be and to relate: to movement, to sound, to each other, to our selves and all we hold. An abundant, tart entity. A gathering. A party. A seal. The multiplicity of a single moment elongated through time. A vessel of sorts. An experiment of things not stacked, but coagulated. Layers: of time, of coming together, of meaning. A body: of history, of water, of selves. A juicy thing. An index of belonging. A dance because we fucking love it. A portrait of an era.
